Did you ever wonder why we have Honorary Chairs for the Relay?
The answer is so very simple... because they are SURVIVORS!

Survivors are the very heart of Relay For Life. They show the community that survivorship is real - that we are continuing our fight, continuing to
raise necessary funds, and making progress in our battle against cancer!

Although we have many survivors in our community, only a small portion participate in the Relay For Life. Maybe it’s because they don’t have
time… or that they don’t have the energy… or maybe it’s because they just haven’t been asked. We’d like to change that. We are asking that
every single one of you invite a survivor you know to get involved in the Relay magic. And keep in mind that a survivor is not just someone who
has had cancer for an extended length of time… anyone who has lived one day after hearing the words “You have cancer” is truly a Survivor!

We know that almost every one of you has been touched by cancer in one way or another, so we would like to challenge you to “Pack the
Track” so to speak. We want to see as many Survivors as we can possibly get on the track… and not just for the Survivor lap. We want you all
to adopt our “Embrace A Survivor” motto, and invite a survivor to not only come on Friday, but also to stay with you and enjoy the festivities
through the night on Friday and all day Saturday. Relay IS a celebration of Survivorship, and we want them to be there to share and live the
experience with us - it is because of them that we Relay. How good it is to see our donation dollars help cancer patients live longer lives!
